One way to keep your face clean is to wash it with non-perfumed soap and not deodorant soap. Also, avoid too much sunlight without wearing sunscreen. You can also protect your skin from the harsh sun by wearing a cap or hat, and by wearing clothes that cover your body.
Oil and dirt in your pores, along with bacteria, can cause acne (pimples, zits). Eight out of 10 teenagers get acne. Washing your face two or three times a day can help, but don’t do it too much and be gentle; otherwise, you might exacerbate (make worse) your acne. Gently pat dry your face with a clean towel.
Don't touch or break your pimples because doing so can lead to an infection and might leave a scar on your skin that won't go away.
Treatments are available for acne, and if your acne is severe (extremely bad) you can see a dermatologist, who is a skin doctor. Usually, acne goes away after puberty.
