Depending on your age, you might not be able to find a job at a supercenter or supermarket yet, but there are other ways to make some money.
You could do yard work, mow lawns, shovel snow, babysit, start a dog-walking business, paint a neighbor’s fence, or do other things.
Working will let you see what it’s like to have a job, take on responsibility, earn money, and work hard. You will understand where your parents are coming from when they say they can or cannot afford something for you. It is imperative (important) to have an excellent work ethic, which means you are an efficient, dedicated, hard worker who is responsible. Be on time for your work, don’t be lazy, and do your best work.
You can use people in your neighborhood you’ve worked for as good references on a resume when applying for your first job, which might make it easier to get your foot in the door. You will get great satisfaction from being a hard-working, dedicated, reliable worker.
