Some foods are better for you, like broccoli, peaches, and pineapple, rather than potato chips, a chocolate candy bar, or sugary cereal.
Everyone makes choices in life. Try to make reasonable food choices. Choose better foods more often than not, and eat the not-so-good foods in moderation; that way, most of the food you eat will help you.
When eating, take reasonable bites, or utensil-fills of food. Don’t eat fast; take your time. Put your fork or spoon down after each bite, and pick it up again when you have finished chewing and swallowing.
Do not eat out of boredom, because you are down or depressed, have anxiety (worry), or other feelings that cause you to want to eat when you shouldn't.
And don't eat out of habit. If you always get a chocolate bar after dinner, it might be a habit. Do you really need that chocolate bar? Is it a habit?
Do you feel hungry between meals? You might only need to drink water and not need food. Your hunger might disappear after you drink water.
